·         Merrilyn Barto, CMA, EMT-P.I. CHI, BS

Merrilyn Barto, Director of Allied Health Education Programs, has many years experience in healthcare and healthcare training and education.  Ms. Barto became a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in 1989, an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Basic Level in 1989, EMT-Advanced in 1990, Firefighter Level 1 1990, Emergency Medical Dispatcher 1990, Paramedic 1990 Associates Degree from Sinclair Community College, Firefighter Level 2 1993 Associates Degree Fire Science, EMS Instructor (Basic, Advanced and Paramedic levels) 1996, Hazmat Levels 1,2 and Technician,  OSHA Train The Trainer, CPR and ACLS Instructor, CMA Instructor for a technical college, has been a Lieutenant, EMS Coordinator, Fire Prevention Coordinator  and Member  of Brookville Fire Department 14 years, is a current Member of New Lebanon and Jefferson Twp. Fire Departments, and is a member of the American Association of Medical Assistants, Greater Miami Valley EMS Council, and the Greater Ohio Fire Safety Educators Association. 2007 Received her Bachelor of Science from Rochville University in health care education.

 

·         Terry Bowden, LPN, C.Cht., RM
Terry has been in the healthcare field for over twenty years.In addition to her nursing, Terry is a Certified Clinical Reiki Master, and is certified in Non Directive Imagery.Terry is a compassionate healer, as well as an entertaining and effective instructor for the Academy.She has been an active volunteer, sharing her time and expertise with OAHH over the years, and is a recipient of the Instructor of the Quarter Award in 2005.

 

Estil Boyd maintains a private practice in hypnotherapy in Oxford, Ohio.  He is a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist having graduated from the Ohio Academy of Holistic Health, inc. in 1998.  Estil has extensive experience with pain management through hypnosis.  Estil is a member of the American Board of Hypnotherapy, is a certified Hypnoanesthesiologist by the National Board of Hypnotic Anesthesiology, as well as a Time Line Therapy Practitioner.  In addition, Estil has owned and operated a successful business for many years and brings his business talents as well as his hypnotherapy and communication abilities to OAHH as an instructor.

 

·         Angela Brooks, B.A., RM, Cht

Angela has her Bachelor’s from the Ohio State University in Somatics and Animal Behavior. She has been a Reiki Master since 1996 and a Certified Hypnotherapist since 2002. Angela has been with OAHH since December 2004, taking some time off for internships around the world. She is an instructor in the Nursing program as well as the Reiki instructor.

 

 

 

Daisy is the OAHH Nursing Education Program Director. She is a doctor of Oriental medicine from China. She received her degree from Tianjin Medical College. Dr. Daisy is trained in acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine. She received her MSN from the University of Phoenix. She has been a nursing instructor since 2001.

 

·         Paula Dunham, RN, BSN, MS, ND.

Dr. Dunham earned a Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Wright State University, a Masters Degree in Health Care Administration from Central Michigan University, and  a Doctorate Degree in Naturopathy from Clayton College of Natural Health.  She has worked as a nurse for over 20 years in acute care, critical care, and long-term care, in capacities including charge nurse, clinical nurse manager, educator, and director of nursing.  She has taught at Sinclair Community College in the Allied Health division, and is a natural health consultant and speaker.  She has presented at regional and state-wide venues, and has taught health promotion classes at elementary schools all over the Miami Valley.  She is an advanced practitioner of NeuroModulation Technique, a form of energy healing.  Paula is a native Daytonian, and currently lives in Centerville with her husband and two children.  She is an active volunteer at her church and her children's school.

 

·         Elaine Hiatt, MA

Ms. Thomas, School Director, received her MA in Workforce Development Education and her BA in Religious Studies from the Ohio State University . She is currently completing her doctorate in Leadership in Higher Education through Capella University . She has been an instructor at the Academy for several years and was in private practice in this field for more than 15 years, holding certifications in Hypnotherapy, Reiki, NLP, Touch for Health, Herbology, and Nutrition.

 

·         John Hiatt, MS, RN, C.Cht

John teaches sciences and humanities in the nursing program at OAHH.  He is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Registered Nurse in Indiana and a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist.  John brings his considerable professional experience in the healthcare field, combined with his holistic training to the classroom. 

 

·         Jennifer Hurd, LMT

Jennifer teaches in the massage therapy program at OAHH. Jennifer has been involved in healthcare for over ten years.  In the course of her work, she became intrigued by massage therapy as a natural approach to pain management and became an LMT in 2001.  Jennifer has been in private practice for five years at Main Massage in Clayton, Ohio and incorporates Neuromuscular Therapy and Reflexology techniques into her work.   Jennifer is a well-organized instructor, integrating her healthcare and massage experience into the curriculum to provide students with both theory and real world applications.

 

·         Donna Joyce, Instructor

Donna is a reflexology instructor at OAHH and has been involved in the holistic health field for over ten years.  Donna has certifications in Reflexology, Reiki and NDI, and is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association, being licensed in both Utah and Ohio.  Donna has a BS in Electrical Engineering, works as an Electrical Engineer, and practices Reflexology, Reiki and Massage at the Ohio Center for Integrative Medicine, the clinical division of the Academy.

 

 

Betty Peyton brings her years of nursing experience to the Academy as the Nurse Aide Training Coordinator and Instructor. Betty is a graduate of Sinclair Community College and has much experience in the long-term care community, bringing her knowledge and caring attitude to the classroom.

·         Maria Triolo, Instructor

Maria teaches in the Nursing Education Program at OAHH. She is currently finishing her Master’s thesis in Nursing at Indiana Wesleyan University. She received her Associates Degree in Nursing from Sinclair Community College.

 

·         Barbara Utendorf, B.S., N.D.

Barbara Utendorf spent nearly two successful decades in Fortune 500 companies in the Cincinnati area before pursuing her Doctorate in Naturopathy, studying nutrition, herbs, homeopathy, iridology, sound & music therapy, color & light therapy, aromatherapy, detoxification, acupressure, and holistic animal care. In addition, Barbara is a certified Aromatherapist, and has completed certifications in Crystal Healing, DNA/ Theta Healing, and Energy/ Vibrational Healing.
